Let’s clear the air: I don’t like Chief Justice Elliott “Spike” Maynard.
It isn’t that I don’t like the plastic surgery to fix his eyes. It isn’t that I dislike his ever-changing hair color. I’m not that offended by his rampant heterosexuality, his need to nail younger women at a ferocious rate.
Spike Maynard is a douchebag. A selfish, greedy, porn-centric, bought and paid-for by CEO of Massey Energy Don Blankenship douchebag.
In just about every single case before the Supreme Court involving Massey Energy — 8 by the Associated Press’s count — Spike has voted in favor of Massey Energy. If Spike ever voted against Massey, he did it when his vote didn’t matter because he was already in the minority.
In just about every single case involving Scott Segal — Justice Robin Davis’s husband — Spike has voted in favor of Scott Segal’s clients. Not surprisingly, Davis seems to return the favor by mimicking Spike’s vote.
Porn-centric? The computer contractors who work at the Supreme Court have had a good look at Spike Maynard’s computer traffic. They know he likes to work late in the office with his doors closed and the curtains drawn. And they say he is using his state office computer to download a phenomenal amount of porn.
For that — and loads of other reasons that I hope become public — I despise Spike Maynard.
